CURRY CUP CHAMPION 2023

WOW! What a tournament. Stephen Currys Underrated Tour wrapped up its 2nd season with a last event at Chambers Bay, a tournament that would be the deciding factor, if Lucky Cruz gets into the Curry Cup via point total. After a heart-breaking penalty in Las Vegas Paiute Golf Course, which drop Lucky from a Top 10 into 17th position, a win or a high finish would secure Lucky’s return to the Curry Cup after finishing 4th in last year’s Curry Cup at 14yrs old.

Lucky made it in the 12th and final position rounding out the Curry Cup field of Top 12 Boys and Top 12 Girls; in a Fed-X format the top point leaders received strokes for the total point position. The leader was 5 Under and Lucky started Even Par, to make the stakes even higher the Underrated Tour plays modified tees, heads up golf, meaning each age division gets to play from a modified yardage while the older kids play from 6,700yds plus. Lucky’s final score of 5 under was a 10-shot swing on the field to win. Surprising the field, which was long overdue, as Lucky struggled with a small swing change that finally showed its results and the last part of his season. Congratulations on a well deserve win.
